چکیده

Objective. The aim of the study was to estimate prognostic value GDNF in acute IS patients. Glial neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a neuropeptide, which promotes proliferation and differentiation cells central peripheral nervous system, possesses antihypoxic neuroprotective properties ischemic stroke (IS).
Materials methods. 50 patients with first-ever were examined at National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); modified Rankin scale used on admission hospital, 7 14 days after stroke. plasma level measured first 48 hours onset. analyzed by commercially available ELISA kit. comparison group included 20 healthy persons.
 Results. average (3.4 [2.8; 5.0] pg/ml) significantly higher than individuals (2.8 [2.6; 2.9] pg/ml), p = 0.02.
risk unfavourable functional outcome day onset 2.8-fold those whose increased 7th disease more 30% compared its (RR 2,8; 95% CI [1,45,7]).
 less 2.9 pg/ml associated high death during 6,7; [1,530,5]).
Conclusions. Plasma concentrations have predictive for unfavorable period IS.

The Effects of Progesterone on Glial Cell Line-derived Neurotrophic Factor Secretion from C6 Glioma Cells

Objective(s)Progesterone is a steroid hormone whose biology has been greatly studied within the confines of reproductive function. In recent years, the neuroprotective effects of progesterone have attracted growing interest. Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), is a neurotrophic factor which plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of distinct sets of central and p...

increased expression of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor in rat brain after traumatic brain injury

glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (gdnf) plays important roles not only for the differentiation of neurons during normal development but also for the survival and recovery of many populations of mature neurons. the effect of traumatic brain injury (tbi) on the expression of gdnf is currently unknown. to determine if there is alteration in gdnf after tbi we examined the effect of contr...

Effect of Lithium on Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) Level in Patients with Ischemic Stroke: A Clinical Trial

Background and Objectives: Previous studies have indicated that lithium may increase the level of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which in turn improves the recovery of patients with stroke. In this controlled trial we evaluated the effect of lithium on BDNF serum level in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods: In this randomized controlled...

S100B Protein, Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, and Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor in Human Milk

BACKGROUND Human milk contains a wide variety of nutrients that contribute to the fulfillment of its functions, which include the regulation of newborn development. However, few studies have investigated the concentrations of S100B protein, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) in human milk. The associations of the concentrations of S1...
